Genovation debuts its all-electric Corvette-based Supercar with manual transmission 12 Jan '18
Maryland-based custom carmaker Genovation has been promoting its speed records achieved in an electric converted Corvette over the past year.
Now, they have debuted the final version of their all-electric Supercar, Genovation GXE, at CES this week.
Andrew Saul, CEO of Genovation Cars, commented on the debut:
“Our objective is offering a sustainable all-electric high-performance supercar with record-shattering speed capability, paired with ample and efficient range, by harnessing and optimizing the very best of available technologies.”
The company released the production specs of the Genovation GXE:
“Designed, developed and produced in the USA, the Genovation GXE employs state-of-the-art batteries, inverters and electric twin-motors, producing more than 800 horsepower and more than 700 lb.-ft. of torque. The GXE offers two transmission alternatives deploying power to the rear wheels. Buyers may choose between a seven-speed manual transmission with a conventional clutch pedal – an all-electric supercar category exclusive – and a paddle-shift automatic gearbox. Either transmission enables the GXE to achieve 0-60 mph in less than three seconds and deliver a top speed in excess of 220 mph.”
According to Genovation, the battery pack enables a range of “more than 175 miles ” on a single charge.
The company previously talked about a price of $750,000 per car with a limited-edition run of 75 units, which should start being delivered by the end of the year.
